The Polish market has got a huge potential in the area of wind energy. Currently less than ten percent of the required electricity is covered by renewable energy sources. Wind energy - besides hydropower – already now has got the biggest share of that. But to comply with the EU climate targets Poland needs to increase the part of clean energy to 15 percent until 2020.
Currently the prospects are favorable: In April 2014 Polish government has adopted a long awaited draft law to support renewable energies, which ensures investors the necessary planning certainty and provide incentives for action. If the further legislative procedure runs successfully, a fixed feed-in remuneration for Polish wind energy projects will be granted for a period of 15 years.
