To the event’s conference program a lecture on the topic of wind energy was contributed by Günter Laubinger of BBB. Laubinger, who is head of contracting and procurement spoke about “Achieving Efficient Windfarm Operation by Optimized Planning and Contracting”. In this he could draw on the long-term experience of BBB in planning and realization of international wind energy projects.
For BBB Turkey is not a new market: the technical consultants provided numerous wind yield assessments and resource calculations for wind energy projects in various regions of the country. Additionally technical due diligences were performed of projects with a total nominal output of 330 MW.
Turkey’s installed wind energy output has grown considerably during the last years. Since 2008 it has increased by nearly six times to more than 2,000 MW. The latest modifications in the Turkish law enable a simplified approval of wind power plants for the generation of electricity for the own consumption, which will cause a major growth of that market segment.
Entering that niche market will provide an opportunity for BBB to further penetrating the Turkish wind energy market: “Together with our partner IHSAN TURKELI we will soon develop special solutions for the implementation of those projects”.
