Data sources for the IB-MP309 can be shared files in the network, multimedia files on connected USB devices as well as several online services. Or you mount an HDD with up to 1.5 TB.
The IB-MP309 brings video portals like YouTube as well as online photo services like
Picasa directly to the big TV screen. All this is completed by a BitTorrent client for peer to peer networks and the access of some thousand radio stations in the Web.
The Future is Invited
Today the IB-MP309 plays HD codecs like H.264, VC-1, WMV9, MKV, ASF and MOV as well as transport streams like TS, TP, TRP, M2T, M2TS und MTS. Also for future formats it will be fit. Its Sigma Designs EM8635 chipset makes it possible to update the firmware when needed.
Online services like YouTube or Picasa are made for entertainment. And that means you want to share the joy whenever possible. It isn't any longer necessary that five heads try to get a view of a small computer screen or listen to tiny squawking speakers. With the IB-MP309 YouTube videos come to the big TV screen and the Hi-fi speakers.
To have easy control you might connect a keyboard, a wireless keyboard. The PC may remain in the study switched off.
Stand-alone or Network?
It gets along well in any setting. In a stand-alone mode of use it accesses multimedia files on the internal HDD and on connected USB drives. In a network – LAN 10/100 or Wi-Fi (WLAN) IEEE802.11n – it can additionally use online services as well as network storage like e. g. a NAS. Here the IB-MP309 employs Samba and UP'n'P as servers.
Moreover there are also NFS and FTP.
There could be told much more about the IB-MP309 (see data sheet). Eventually it is quite perfect and is good at (almost) everything.
