Jobnetzwerke, JCL, Programme, Datenbankstrukturen und Dokumente werden in ihre Elemente zerlegt und in einen assoziativ auswertbaren Hypercube übertragen. AREDIS/IT Asset Manager ist ein Intranet-basiertes IT-Controlling-System, das die Aufnahme und Analyse entscheidungsrelevanter Informationen über Softwaresysteme, Geschäftsprozesse, Entwicklungsprozesse, Netzwerke, Rechnerausstattung, Verträge und deren Zusammenhänge unterstützt. AREDIS / IT Asset Manager ist flexibel an spezifische Bedürfnisse anpassbar und kann vorhandene Bestandsverzeichnisse einbeziehen.
AREDIS/Application Development Framework interpretiert die Model Driven Architecture (MDA®) durch ein vollständig in Java realisiertes Rahmenwerk, das die grundlegende Architektur Datenbank-orientierter Informationssysteme beschreibt und die wesentlichen Komponenten in Form abstrakter Klassen, Schnittstellen und Interaktionen implementiert. Im Unterschied zu anderen möglichen Interpretationen der MDA ist AREDIS/Application Development Framework eine lauffähige Einheit.
Erst zur Startzeit werden die abstrakten Strukturen durch ein Plattform-spezifisch transformiertes UML-Modell fachlich instantiiert. Die Datenbankstruktur und die Benutzeroberfläche werden aus dem Modell generiert und können individuell angepasst werden.
Die AREDIS-Teilsysteme sind über transparente Schnittstellen verbunden. Mit AREDIS/Application Miner rekonstruierte Softwarestrukturen werden in AREDIS/IT Asset Manager zu einer unternehmensweiten Informationsstruktur kombiniert. Daraus ist ein UML-Modell ableitbar, das AREDIS/Application Development Framework zu einem lauffähigen Intranet-basierten Informationssystem instantiiert. Die Intranet-basierten Systemkomponenten können über einen spezifischen Adapter simultan auf bestehende Datenbanken zugreifen. Dies ermöglicht eine sukzessive Migration von Legacy-Systemen ohne die allgemein bekannten Nachteile einer einstufigen "Big Bang"-Umstellung.
AREDIS ist kein monolithisches System sondern eine erweiterbare Migrationsplattform mit offener Architektur. Best Practice Tools unterschiedlicher Hersteller und Open Source sind zu einer effizienten und besonders wirtschaftlichen Einheit integriert.
