Since 2014, however, export markets have shifted back to the pre-crisis level, a shift that was completed in 2017.
In 2015, machinery exports to the USA again surpassed those to China, which fell continuously and in 2016 reached their lowest level to date at 8.6%.
In the first quarter of 2019, exports of machinery to the USA peaked at 11.2%, while exports of machinery to China fell to 9.5%.

Comparing the development of machine exports with that of industrial production in the exporting countries, it can be seen that machine exports to China are lagging behind industrial growth there. A Quest Report examines this development in more detail at https://www.quest-trendmagazine.com/en/machinery-industry/exports/machine-exports-and-industrial-production.html
