"What the machine-builders want to change in the automation technology 2010“ - current Quest study

(PresseBox) (Bochum, )
Which changes the German machine-builders want to accomplish in the control technology, drive technology, with field buses and Ethernet as well as with IO-Link this year shows the current study of Quest TechnoMarketing, Bochum, London, with the title stated above.

The change readiness of the machine-builders is high, with 70% nearly as high as last year as it stood at 72%. That means: nearly three quarters of the investigated machine-builders are planning changes in the automation technology at the machines this year.

Changes to Ethernet-based field buses (43%), to energy efficient drives (30%) and changes of different drive components (43%) are in the foreground. The change readiness regarding the control technology is likewise relatively noticeably pronounced with 23%.

The portions do not add to 100% since the changes concern several sectors of the automation technology at the same time.

The study covers, which automation components with how many machines are to be changed. So a current picture of the technological change from users’ point of view is generated.

This survey was carried out in January/February and covered scarcely 250 representative companies in the machinery industry. Highlights, table of contents and budget of the study are available on http://www.qtm.de/...
