QNX Software Systems hat Sachin Lawande zum Vice President Engineering Services ernannt. In seiner neuen Position ist der erfahrene Entwickler von Embedded-Systemen und -Software für Kunden-Support, kundenspezifische Entwicklung, Systemintegration, Design Consulting und Training verantwortlich. Vor QNX war Lawande für die Entwicklung von Systemen für Netzwerke und Konsumelektronik bei Unternehmen wie AT&T Bell Labs, U.S. Robotics oder 3Com zuständig. Hier war er maßgeblich an der Entwicklung führender Produkte wie TotalContral Remote Access Server, U.S. Robotics' Sportster Modems und 3Coms Ergo Produktlinie beteiligt. Bei QNX war Lawande bisher Director of Product Management und überwachte die Markteinführung neuer Betriebssystem-Funktionen wie Power Management und erweiterte Grafik- und Netzwerkfähigkeit.

Sachin Lawande ist Inhaber zweier Patente und Gründungsmitglied von COMPASS, einer Vereinigung von Embedded Software- und IT-Profis im Raum Chicago. Sein Studium der Elektrotechnik schloss er an der Southern Illinois University mit einem Master's Degree ab.
