Die hohe Zuverlässigkeit des QNX Neutrino Embedded RTOS beruht auf seiner echten Microkernel-Architektur. Applikationen, Protokollstack, Filesystem und Treiber laufen in geschützten Speicherbereichen unabhängig vom System-Kernel. Der Vorteil: Fallen einzelne Komponenten aus, lassen sie sich im laufenden Betrieb ohne Auswirkung auf andere Systembereiche oder den Kernel selbst neu starten.
