Die MAG Gruppe hat dem Wunsch von Prof. Dr. Jürgen Fleischer zugestimmt, seine Tätigkeit als Chairman of the Board bei MAG zum 30.09.2010 zu beenden und an seinen Karlsruher Lehrstuhl zurückzukehren. Das Ziel, die Unternehmensgruppe zu einem führenden Anbieter individueller Produktionslösungen auszubauen und eine einheitliche globale Management- und Unternehmensstruktur umzusetzen, wurde erreicht. Zudem wurden unter der Führung von Prof. Fleischer wichtige Initiativen umgesetzt, wie die Ausweitung der Aktivitäten in den Bereichen Technologie und Mechatronik oder die verstärkte Präsenz in China. Er trug maßgeblich zu wegweisenden Projekten bei, wie der Errichtung eines europäischen Composites Centers in Göppingen, der Gründung eines MAG Stiftungslehrstuhls für Fertigungstechnik an der Tongji Universität Shanghai oder der Vernetzung im Rahmen der von der deutschen Regierung initiierten „Nationalen Plattform für Elektromobilität“.
Der Gründer und Inhaber der MAG Gruppe, Dr. Mo Meidar, entsprach der Bitte von Prof. Fleischer und hob seinen bedeutenden Anteil am Erfolg der MAG Gruppe hervor. Er würdigte dessen wichtige und unermüdliche Arbeit als Chairman in Zeiten der Krise. Dr. Meidar wünscht Herrn Prof. Fleischer weiteren Erfolg bei seiner Tätigkeit am KIT und freut sich auf ein gleichbleibend gutes Verhältnis und regen Austausch auch in der Zukunft.

Zur Person: Prof. Dr. Jürgen Fleischer, Jahrgang 1961, promovierte nach seinem Studium des Maschinenbaus an der Universität Karlsruhe (TH) im Bereich Produktionstechnik. Er war unter anderem tätig als Produktionsingenieur im Mercedes Werk Rastatt, Vorstandsassistent Daimler Benz Forschung und Technik, Geschäftsbereichsleiter Schienenfahrzeuge/Fahrwerke bei Adtranz, sowie nach Übernahme durch Bombardier zuständig für den Geschäftsbereich Regionalzüge. Nach 12 Jahren Industrie übernahm er 2003 den Lehrstuhl und das Institut für Produktionstechnik an der Universität Karlsruhe (TH). Seit 2008 war Herr Fleischer dort beurlaubt, um seine Tätigkeit als Chairman of the Executive Board der internationalen Werkzeugmaschinengruppe MAG Industrial Automation Systems ausüben zu können.

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Fleischer returns to his chair at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)
Göppingen, July 15, 2010 – The MAG group has accepted Prof. Dr. Jürgen Fleischer’s request to resign his position as MAG Chairman as of September 30, 2010, and return to his position as professor of manufacturing and assembly technology at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Prof. Fleischer has achieved the strategic targets of developing MAG into a leading manufacturing solutions provider with a strong and efficient organization. His initiatives also included the expansion of MAG activities in the areas of machine processing and mechatronics, as well as strengthening the company’s position in China. Prof. Fleischer contributed to important projects in MAG such as the opening of a new European composites center in Goeppingen, the endowment of a MAG Chair of Production Engineering at Shanghai Tongji University and MAG’s contribution to the German government’s “national platform for e-mobility”.
Dr. Mo Meidar, founder and owner of the MAG group, accepts Jürgen Fleischer’s decision and recognizes his significant contributions to MAG’s success. He has held several senior management and academic positions, among others as Chief Engineer and Chairman at Karlsruhe University (TH), Vice President of Advanced Technologies at ABB Daimler Benz Transportation GmbH (Adtranz), President of the Product Unit Bogies at Daimler AG, and President Regional and Commuter Trains at Bombardier Transportation. After 12 years of employment in the industry, Jürgen Fleischer took over as Chairman of the wbk – institute of production science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). Since 2008, he has been on leave, holding the position as Chairman of the Executive Board at MAG Industrial Automation Systems.
