Virtual Sales Assistant for Terminals launched in Retail Stores
Through the integration of the prudsys RECOMMENDATION ENGINE into the POS Terminal XPLACE from ADVERTIMES now also customers in retail stores are virtually advised.
With immediate effect, XPLACE terminals offer an additional, unique service in selected markets: they virtually advice customers and offer them individual product recommendations.
This is provided through a recommendation engine, from the Data Mining specialist prudsys AG, integrated into the XPLACE terminal software. The prudsys RECOMMENDATION ENGINE (prudsys RE) not only analyses historic data in order to find product correlations, but also directly interacts with the customers and learns in real time through the analysis of their response to product recommendations.
At this, the prudsys RE, which is based on Data Mining technologies, analyses the access data of the customers of the XPLACE terminal as well as the content of the viewed products and generates product recommendations like “customers who were interested in these products, also were interested in the following products”.
This principle is well known from online retail where the prudsys RE is profitably used in well-known online shops (e.g. Quelle, Karstadt, Baur Versand, and Home Shopping Europe).
For the example of a music CD this means: customers not only get a comprehensive overview over the assortment of music CDs of the particular market and can listen to CD tracks. In addition, they got recommendations for CD matching their music taste.
Through the integration of the prudsys RE into the POS terminal XPLACE now also in-store retailers are enabled to generate additional revenue and to increase customer satisfaction by means of intelligent data analysis.
