The electric power for this refilling station is directly produced by the fuel cell test stands in the production hall of Proton Motor. The fuel cell test stands of the manufacturer are supplied with hydrogen and produce permanently clean energy for the charging station. A fuel cell is for example like a battery galvanic cell, generating electric energy and heat on a base of chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen. The only emission is a small amount of clean warm water. The electrons and protons of the hydrogen are separated; the positive loaded protons go through a proton exchange membrane (PEM).
Additionally a solar battery storage system installed on the company’s ground provides energy to the charging station. Furthermore the energy supplier KommEnergie secures that additional electric power made from pure water energy, which is available in case additional energy is needed. The recharging station in Puchheim extends the charging network of KommEnergie from three to four stations. Together there are two stations in Puchheim, one in Eichenau and one in Gröbenzell. All citizens may charge their electric powered vehicles with clean emission free electric power.
Under patronage of the city of Puchheim this charging station was designed together by KommEnergie and Proton Motor.” Protons are always searching for another proton, or in other words a partner”, Norbert Seidl concluded at the inauguration.
With the help of this project, the partners want to give a clear signal, to forward fuel cell and the application as a source of energy. “We have only the possibility to make a difference to climate change with innovative technology and with the help of this new emission free charging station we contribute to Energiewende.” Ian Peden added.
