Die ProfiForms Projekt GmbH, Heimsheim, hat jetzt die Komponenten ihrer Output Management Suite (OMS) als Services für Service-orientierte Architekturen (SOA) verfügbar gemacht. Die Module OMS-ReportWriter, OMS-FormDirector, OMS-Archiver, OMS -Logistics sowie die OMS-DV-Freimachung sind damit vollständig vom jeweiligen SOA-Server steuerbar. Sie lassen sich nahtlos in beliebige Geschäftsprozesse einbinden, kontrollieren und steuern. Ebenfalls für SOA verfügbar ist der OMS-Spooler in der Version 3.5, der sich aber auch nach wie vor über die bisherigen Schnittstellen und Mechanismen ansprechen lässt. Während viele Anbieter unter der SOA-Verfügbarkeit ihrer Lösungen noch eine klassische Anbindung über Schnittstellen verstehen, hat der innovative Softwareanbieter seine gesamte Produktpalette neu unter Java aufgesetzt. ProfiForms unterstützt mit den OMS-Modulen jegliche SOA-Frameworks wie SAP NetWeaver, BEA WebLogic, IBM Websphere oder JBoss. Dem SOA-Gedanken entsprechend lassen sich die Services, beispielsweise die Dokument-Generierung, DV-Freimachung, Portoptimierung, Poststraßensteuerung, von allen SOA-basierten Prozessen nutzen. Parallel dazu steuert der Spooler der Softwaresuite wahlweise einen eigenen Workflow oder wird ebenfalls als Service in die bestehende SOA-Landschaft integriert.
Viele Unternehmen stehen heute vor der Herausforderung, ihre Abläufe zu prüfen und effektiv zu gestalten und damit ein schlagkräftiger Businesspartner zu bleiben.
