Die Polytec GmbH wurde 1967 in Waldbronn bei Karlsruhe gegründet und ist mit Niederlassungen in Europa, Nord-Amerika und Asien international aufgestellt.

Polytec entwickelt, produziert und vertreibt optische Sensorik und darauf aufbauende hochqualifizierte Messsysteme. Die Lösungen sind spezialisiert auf die Analyse mechanischer Schwingungen, die prozesstaugliche Messung von Länge und Geschwindigkeit, auf die Bestimmung von Oberflächeneigenschaften wie Topographie, sowie auf die Analyse spektraler Materialeigenschaften.

Weiterhin ist Polytec Partner führender internationaler Hersteller für Vertrieb, Applikation und Service von Photonischen Produkten und optischen Lösungen. Schwerpunkte hier sind die industrielle Bildverarbeitung, optische Telekommunikation, faseroptische Sensorik, optische Strahlungsmesstechnik, Photovoltaik- und Halbleitermesstechnik sowie Laser und elektro-optische Testsysteme.
