With its outsourcing portfolio, Pironet NDH addresses the essential needs of companies already using cloud computing solutions or considering to do so.

In a comprehensive market survey published by IDC end of may, the research analysts observed still some kind of market restraints towards cloud computing. However, among the various cloud services utilized already, business applications like ERP or CRM are most prevalent. Additionally, medium-sized businesses with up to 1,000 employees take a great interest in future cloud services.

With its holistic business application outsourcing portfolio Pironet NDH specifically addresses this business segment. "At this stage market forecasts according to cloud computing should still be interpreted with caution. But in view of the requirements stated by current SMB users we see us on the right path”, explained Felix Höger, board member of Pironet NDH. "SMBs prefer obtaining comprehensive cloud services from one single IT service provider. We are addressing this demand with integrated solutions for software as a service (SaaS), corporate networks and storage on demand. We have been able to combat the reservations towards cloud computing related to security, compliance and loss of control. We produce our on-demand services in our own high-performance data center. This way, our clients can be assured that their data is actually being stored within Germany. With respect to the adaptability of cloud services, we draw on partnerships with integration service providers that tailor our SaaS services to meet specific client requirements."

In their study, the IDC analysts distinguish between cloud technology as a platform and cloud services like software as a service (SaaS). Pironet NDH is exploiting both opportunities for growth: in addition to its range of services, the outsourcing specialist is, via its partner program, enabling software providers and integration service providers access to a cloud infrastructure as well as providing expertise in the fields of service and drafting of contracts.

Still a need for education

Matthias Kraus, the research analyst at IDC, still sees a great need for education in relation to the subject of cloud computing: "IT service providers should intensify their communication and point out the benefit of cloud computing, for example by case studies or ROI analyses.

In addition they have to ensure that their customers do really understand their cloud computing concept." Pironet NDH board member Felix Höger understands this: "The choice on the market is very confusing. However, through the commitment of large providers such as Google, Amazon and Microsoft, the subject of cloud computing is attracting greater attention among companies. In this respect, we want to meet the demand for information by expanding our communication especially towards SMBs."
