From the development environment to end-user support
When requested, Pironet NDH will also support software vendors in migrating their solutions from the classical software licence model to the cloud era: from formulating service documentation and service-level agreements through to adapting the accounting models and taking over support services, for example in the context of a 24/7 helpdesk for end users. For more than ten years Pironet NDH has had practical experience in providing and operating successful cloud computing and on-demand software services.
"Numerous software companies are currently faced with the challenge of expanding or adapting their applications and offerings so that their customers can also use the software over the internet," says Khaled Chaar, Managing Director Business Strategy and Cloud Enabling at Pironet NDH. But the financial and organisational effort for setting up their own cloud environments as well as operating and support models is a great obstacle.
Cross-technology PaaS platform with German certificate of origin
"Since the discussion regarding inadequate data protection, the lack of support and unclear legal aspects is leaving many German software vendors with great concerns about developing and operating their applications on the PaaS platform of a non-German provider, we now offer a comprehensive German solution for web-based applications in the form of cloud enabling and our own PaaS development platform," adds Khaled Chaar. The headquarters and the data centres of Pironet NDH are all located in Germany. Consequently the contracts with software vendors are also subject to German law. Pironet NDH is also certified according to the stringent ISO 27001 standard for information security.
In its cloud enabling solution package Pironet NDH has chosen an extremely diversified technological environment. Irrespective of which cloud platform or which programming language a software vendor employs, Pironet NDH offers the technological basis both for developing and testing and for subsequent operation and support. In addition to Microsoft .NET, PHP, Java and Perl, developers in the new PaaS platform can also develop applications in Python, Ruby or node.js and Go.
Compensation models tailored to the software partners' target markets
"A new price model is tailored specifically to our software partnersʼ market requirements here," explains Khaled Chaar. "A customised, jointly developed go-to-market strategy with very low starting prices guarantees our partners business operation in the cloud environment which is profitable from the outset. Use of our platform is even initially free of charge."
The first customer for the cloud enabling offering from Pironet NDH is a well-known software vendor whose solutions are employed by several thousand users throughout Germany, and Pironet NDH is conducting advanced negotiations with many other software providers.
