Product information and offers updated daily
"Anyone who wants to market ITC products successfully today through an e-commerce shop with an affiliated distribution channel must above all be quick and up to date. Because the products change on a daily basis - and the associated prices, too," explains Andy Altmeyer, Managing Director of A Eins IT. The company provides its customers with some half a million product offers and up to 10 million items of price information and updates these each day. A Eins IT thus also performs complete content maintenance of the web shop for its customers. In addition, the solution makes all the information which follows an order, such as status updates, delivery tracking and payment services, available on an automated basis.
Cloud Model ideal for web shop operation
According to Mr Altmeyer, "The cloud-based approach enables Pironet NDH to provide additional IT resources quickly when required." Experience has shown that this is the case when an e-commerce provider launches a marketing campaign and then the number of accesses to the web shop increases dramatically.
However, the ITIL-based service and support processes of Pironet NDH were just as important for A Eins IT as the choice of provider to operate the application, database and web servers: "If, in the case of complex online services, a failure should occur despite all the precautions which have been implemented, it is essential that all measures run according to plan - and that we as the customer are informed proactively," adds Mr Altmeyer.
As the e-commerce provider's customers are active primarily in the German-speaking regions and online trade involves data which it is particularly important to protect, such as personal information or payment data, one decisive criterion for the A Eins IT Managing Director was also that the data is located in Germany. Pironet NDH is one of the few providers who satisfies this requirement and is also certified according to the de facto standard for information security, the ISO 27001 standard.
Web shop focused on business customers
In early 2013, Telekom Deutschland replaced its existing B2B web shop for IT and telecommunications products with the new web shop BuyITLocal.de. More than 1,400 regional sales representatives of the telecommunications provider access BuyITLocal.de as their primary sales tool for product research, quotation preparation and handling orders. The direct sales segment of Telekom Deutschland is one of the largest sales teams in the IT and TC sector in Germany.
