SINFOS, a subsidiary of Pironet NDH and GS1 Germany, is taking the logical next step in the modernization of its master data pool. Following last year's relocation of its pool to the data center of its parent company, SINFOS is now implementing a pirobase PIM software solution for master data management from Pironet NDH. This software has been enhanced specifically for use in the SINFOS Pool.
SINFOS customers will now be able to manage their master data using the web-based SINFOS WebForms client software. For customers, this adds up to a faster data exchange process, as on-site installation and administration are no longer necessary. The intuitive user guidance of the software allows for rapid updating of master data, which is checked for correctness and integrity right as it is being entered.
Changes made to article master data are instantly visible thanks to online data management, and the updated data can be handled immediately. In addition, mass data can be imported in MS Excel and XML formats using two new client interfaces.
Björn Bayard, Head of Product Management at SINFOS, explains: "With the conversion to pirobase PIM, we have made the SINFOS pool ready to meet the demands of the future. The key function of this system remains the centralized and quality-ensured management of master data as well as the consolidated provision of this data to associated systems and partners. At the same time, the issue of master data management is becoming increasingly important for companies. Here, SINFOS provides the basis for consolidating all of a company's data through the combined management of master data and transaction data together with the new PIM functionalities."
According to Rolf Stark, CEO of SINFOS GmbH, "The conversion is a logical step towards the further enhancement of the pool's technology-related competitive advantages. With PIM, we are utilising a scaleable software basis which will hold up to future demands. We are thus able to optimise our service for small and medium-sized companies which can now manage their item master data through their Internet browser. Not only that, this new technology guarantees us the flexibility we need for the planned expansion of SINFOS into new industries and new countries."
