PFAFF's new shoe postbed series - upgrade of a legendary machine generation

(PresseBox) (Kaiserslautern, )
Quality assurance and flexible work processes that help ease the strain on the seamstress are important requirements in modern shoe manufacturing and synonymous with state-of-the-art shoe machines to manufacture shoe uppers. PFAFF INDUSTRIAL's one- and two-needle postbed machines fulfill these requirements in a unique way and are thus the most used piece of equipment in the shoe industry. With the new series 571/574/591 (mechanical versions) and 1571/1574/1591 (electronic versions) PFAFF accomplished a veritable upgrade of this legendary generation of machines.

Quality - made by PFAFF

The rugged and newly-designed postbed with an easy-to-maintain structure (roller bearing with permanent lubrication and highest precision manufacturing of all moveable parts) ensures the long service life one expects from a PFAFF INDUSTRIAL-machine. The powerful feeding concept with feed wheel, driven roller presser and extra needle feed (single-needle versions only) ensure easy topstitching of various material thicknesses with a steady stitch length and sewing without vibrations. The slim postbed permits simple, efficient handling even of small shoe uppers. An optimum stitch pattern is guaranteed for thread sizes from 80/3 to 15/3. An adjustable thread lever enables the use of particularly elastic threads.

Just like in the predecessor models the drive is flange-mounted to the sewing head resp. the base plate. The compact and light-weight drive runs with low noise and vibration. The power transmission of the direct drive with toothed belts is powerful and efficient.

The sturdy and easy-to-adjust thread trimmer ensures that the thread is trimmed safely and neatly with short ends. The backtacking system together with the presser foot lifting enables the automatic stitching of the start and end backtacks. The modern control panel allows the operator to program the number of stitches for bartacks, sewing programs and seam sections. As a standard the sewing head features an LED-lamp that provides optimum lighting for the sewing area. The trimming unit -725/04 simultaneously trims excess material from below while the lining is stitched in.

Exact and consistently repeatable stitch lengths

The electronic machines 1571, 1574 und 1591 are equipped with additional technical features. Here the transport elements roller presser, feed wheel and needle bar are individually driven by stepping motors which ensure exact and easy-to-reproduce stitch lengths.

Because of the electronically driven transport elements the machines precisely tacks stitch in stitch. Perforated materials are a thing of the past. In addition to improved quality, a considerable amount of time can be saved. Better quality is achieved by stretching and compressing the material whilst stitching in the lining on the heel. This ensures a smooth beaded edge on women's shoes. The programmable sewing option is highly recommended mainly for short seams such as attaching straps and lugs and bartack patterns. A placed stitch helps determine the exact sewing position.

First choice for shoe uppers

The preferred area of application for this series of machines includes almost all one and two needle stitching operations in shoe manufacturing: Almost all decorative and assembly stitching on classic shoes and sneakers can be processed without effort and top seam quality. The machines also prove their strong points when it comes to automotive applications and small leather goods. The entire range from light-weight to medium-heavy materials is covered. The products guarantee top performance and quality at very attractive prices - a good reason for many renowned manufacturers to use PFAFF INDUSTRIAL postbed machines.
