The Peter and Traudl Engelhorn Foundation promotes research for the advancement of Life Sciences by scholarships for specially gifted young scientists. Biennially it tenders its renowned research prize, dedicated to the donors Peter and Traudl Engelhorn, which is worth ten thousand Euros and is awarded for outstanding research by excellent young scientists consistent with the goals of the Peter and Traudl Engelhorn Foundation.
This year the announcement of the laureate will take place in November, 2018. The official award ceremony for the research prize of the Peter and Traudl Engelhorn Foundation will be held during the 25th anniversary celebration.
Following the presentation of the young scientist on his/her recent research to an illustrious scientific committee (several Nobel Prize winners being present) the prize will be transferred to the selected winner.
This year's topic of the award is "Computational Biology: New Methods in Biology-Oriented Information Technologies with Impact in Basic Research and Application”.
The applicants are younger than 35 years, living or working in DACH (Germany, Austria, or Switzerland), distinguished by their outstanding scientific achievements in Life Sciences dedicated to computational biology and manifested by appropriate publications.
The deadline of application was July 30, 2018.

The Peter and Traudl Engelhorn Foundation promotes research in the fields of Life Sciences - especially in the sub-disciplines of biochemistry, genetics, proteomics, molecular biology, cell biology, biophysics, systems biology, microbiology, bio-medical technology, biotechnology, genetic engineering, bioinformatics - by scholarships for outstanding young scientists by granting two-year`s scholarships for post-doctoral research.
