In der Studie "Comparison of standard and derived 12-lead electrocardiograms registrated by a simplified 3-lead setting with four electrodes for diagnosis of coronary angioplasty-induced myocardial ischemia", erschienen in European Cardiology, wurden 148 EKG-Episoden während einer koronaren Ballondilatation mit dem von CardioSecur® verwendeten Ableitverfahren aufgezeichnet und mit entsprechenden Aufzeichnungen eines konventionellen EKG Gerätes mit 10 Elektroden verglichen. Dabei wurden die für eine Ischämie und Herzinfarkt typischen ST-Strecken Veränderungen, die bei der Ballondilatation induziert wurden, zeitgleich mit beiden EKG-Ableitverfahren registriert. In 147 von 148 Fällen, also bei mehr als 99%, bestand eine Übereinstimmung zwischen dem von CardioSecur® verwendeten EKG-Ableitverfahren und dem konventionellen EKG mit 10 Elektroden. Weiterhin bestand eine 100%ige Übereinstimmung bezüglich der Lokalisation der Ischämie.
Das neue, mobile 12-Kanal EKG mit 4 Elektroden stellt damit eine Alternative zum konventionellen EKG mit 10 Elektroden insbesondere in Notsituationen sowie zum Monitoring von Patienten mit Herzkreislauferkrankungen dar.
