Digital print is growing - and so does the need for digital sheet sizes and qualities. A new paper converting discipline is born - digital converting. Still a niche, but with high potential, it poses new requirements as far as quality, materials, sizes, sheet counts and packaging are concerned.
Focusing on its development, challenges and approaches to this new digital printing paper market, Patrick Walczak, Vice President Sales & Marketing at Pemco Inc. will deliver a speech at the 11th EMGE Office and Digital Printing Papers Conference held in Amsterdam on October 10 and 11, 2013.
"Digital print requires a diversity of sheet sizes, going beyond standard sizes. In addition, the paper quality, especially the surface, is critical for printers to achieve best print results," explains Patrick Walczak. "This is a challenge for converting equipment, from sheeting to packaging and further down the line." In his presentation Walczak will outline the key factors for successful digital sheets niche players. The current project at UPM NorService, Germany, under the leadership of its General Manager Herbert Hennig, underlines as example of excellence how Pemco's sheeting and packaging equipment can contribute to the success.
The EMGE Office and Digital Printing Papers Conference is the only international conference dedicated to these promising market segments. Every year the conference attracts expert speakers and representatives from high-level positions throughout the supply chain, including but not limited to papermakers and merchants, stationery and supplies distributors, printing machine manufacturers, and industry consultants and analysts. Pemco, together with its sister company E.C.H. Will, is silver sponsor for this year's conference.
