Launched in July 2010, the VX Series features revolutionary new plasma display panel (PDP) technology which uses Panasonic's efficient luminance control to achieve an illumination speed approximately one quarter that of conventional full HD panels from the moment the device is switched on. The technology enables a high-quality full HD 3D display with 4K x 2K (4,096 x 2,160 pixels) on the 152" and 1080p on both the 103" and 85". The series also incorporates signal integrity Crosstalk Reduction technology using frame-by-frame illuminating methods.
"We're focused on extending the reach of the 3D experience into a wider range of professional markets as well as the home. The demand for 3D displays is only set to grow as more content becomes available and as innovation in display technology opens up new applications for 3D," said David Martin, General Manager Sales & Marketing for Panasonic Displays. "Panasonic is one of the only manufacturers to offer a complete line up of full HD 3D Displays, making 3D more attractive and accessible to both the rental and residential markets."
In showrooms for example, 3D content on large displays can be used for product presentations and demonstrations by car dealers or by the housing industry as a realistic sales tool. Virtual Gaming in 3D can also provide an immersive experience for multiple players, making them feel as if they are in the game scenes.
LANG AG, one of Europe's largest AV rental distributors, is the first to purchase a 152" 3D Display in Europe. Commenting on the recent order, Tobias Lang, CEO Lang AG said: "We're convinced that there is a promising market and demand for a display of this size in Europe. We're looking forward to exploring the ways our customers can benefit most from this new display format."
At ISE, the 103" model will show a virtual reality design application demonstrating how life-sized 3D simulations can greatly improve design accuracy and flexibility. The 85" plasma will demonstrate high end home cinema while the 152" will show 3D content in 4K resolution.
