PrOOo-Box in "Weihnachtsversion" 2.3.1-2 veröffentlicht

Pünktlich zum Weihnachtsfest legt das deutschsprachige Projekt von OpenOffice.org noch einmal nach: Die überarbeitete PrOOo-Box in der Version 2.3.1-2 steht zum kostenlosen Download bereit. Die DVD zu OpenOffice.org 2.3.1 unterstützt die Betriebssysteme Windows (inkl. Vista), Linux, Mac OS X (Intel und PPC) und Solaris (Sparc und x86).

Die Installation unter Windows wurde durch ein Menü vereinfacht, das in einem mitgelieferten Browser automatisch startet. Zudem sind die Debian-Pakete nun auch als Repository erhältlich, das sich direkt von der DVD aus installieren lässt. Erneuert und hinzugefügt wurden zahlreiche Vorlagen und Addons, allen voran der Sun Report Builder für das Datenbankmodul Base sowie ein Calc basierter Kalender mit Mondphasen. Die Dokumentation für OpenOffice.org Writer wurde aktualisiert und erweitert, auch die Zusatzsoftware wurde erweitert und unter anderem um die Groupware Komponenten Lightning und Sunbird ergänzt.

Erstmals gibt es eine abgespeckte PrOOo-Box als betriebssystem-spezifische CD-ROM, jeweils für Windows, Linux und Mac OS X. Die CD-ROM enthält ebenso wie die DVD-Variante alle Vorlagen, Dokumentationen und Addons. Die DVD enthält zusätzlich Entwicklertools, das SDK und den Sourcecode zu OpenOffice.org. CD-ROMs für weitere Betriebssysteme sind in Planung.
