Open Grid Europe: Milestone in the integration of Europe's internal energy market

Essen, (PresseBox) - The continuing merger of further market areas operated by gas transmission companies is also helping the German gas market grow closer together. Open Grid Europe is currently working intensively on a further reduction of the number of market areas in Germany as requested by the regulator.

The coupling of H-gas and L-gas areas in particular is a huge challenge for the companies because it requires numerous workflows and IT-based processes to be modified.

Jürgen Fuhlrott, Head of Contracting at Open Grid Europe: "Our company has always seen itself as a front runner in the continued development of the market areas and will continue to play that role. The cross-quality market area cooperation we are planning will mark another milestone in the integration of Europe's internal energy market."
