"Forgery is a massive problem in the european events industry that costs the economy millions. This new process will protect the valuable brand of performers and businesses as well as ensuring revellers don't get a nasty surprise at the venue," explained Heiko Wiederer, product manager at Onlineprinters.
Onlineprinters is the beta tester for HP, producing event tickets on an HP Indigo digital printing press using unique HP security ink. It is the only printer in the market to offer this style of ticketing. The ticket can also be customised with individual designs and can be printed in runs as small as 100 pieces.
This will be available to customers alongside other forgery-proof tickets featuring security paper, which consists of a hidden red layer that is only revealed when the ticket is torn.
"As well as stamping out forgery this type of ticket can also be a beautiful and memorable souvenir for event goers," added Wiederer. "The opportunity to partner with HP has been absolutely fantastic and we hope to create a new ticketing standard across theatre, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and other event organisers large or small."
