Slim handheld enclosure for mobile applications

Handy, flat dimensions, yet at the same time with a lot of volume, are ideal for universal installations and modern radio standards. The new SLIM-CASE series of handheld enclosures by OKW Gehäusesysteme, with their slim design and their choice of different operating fronts, is ideally suited for these mobile electronic applications.

Thanks to its design, the flat SLIM-CASE is ideal for modern handheld control units. It lies comfortably in the hand and looks particularly attractive. The enclosure range includes one top and one bottom part each, made of flame-resistant ASA+PC-FR (UL 94 V-0) in off-white (RAL 9002). Assembly is effected from behind, using four TORX stainless steel screws. This gives an attractive appearance, since no screw heads are visible. The SLIM-CASE is available in six versions in the dimensions (length x width x height) 148 x 74 x 19/22 mm. You can choose between three different operating panels:
  • Recessed 1.6 mm: for the use of a contoured transparent front screen or for membrane keyboards.
  • Recessed 1 mm: for applications with decor foils.
  • Flat operating panel: for individual design and arrangement of operating and display elements of all kinds.
These three versions are each available with two different bottom parts: with or without raised pillar for the optional TPE intermediate ring in volcano. This increases the installation volume by 3 mm and also serves as shock protection. As a further accessory, there is a transparent front screen (rear side printable on request) to protect the displays underneath. The whole thing is fixed with an adhesive foil. With the intermediate ring the enclosures achieve IP54, with an optional seal the enclosures achieve protection class IP 65.

The slim design makes the enclosures ideal for the installation of flat electronic components as well as large-area displays and touch applications. The possible fields of application range from measuring and control technology, IoT/IIoT, through health care, laboratory and medical technology and environmental technology to wireless communication. The SLIM-CASE can be modified as required, for example with mechanical processing for interfaces, the printing of company logos, painting in different gloss levels or in metallic paint, EMC aluminium coating, membrane keyboards and much more.
