According to Gartner analysts David M. Coyle and Terrence Cosgrove in their new research note: "The ease of implementation that Internet-enabled remote-control tools offer has made it a fairly easy product to cost justify." Moreover, "the ability to remote control PCs over the Internet has gone from an emerging technology to a "must have" for many organizations."
NTRsupport Offers Enterprises Choice of SaaS or Self Hosted Model and Strongest Security The report predicted that by 2012, more than 70% of large enterprises will use Internet-enabled remote-control tools and that by 2012 the market will be growing 20% to 25% annually. Cited in the report, NTRsupport, is a leading provider of on-demand enterprise-grade solutions, delivered as software-as-a-service (SaaS) and also a hybrid model for a customer self-hosted solution, offering enterprises choice, flexibility and the strongest security in the industry.
"Customers around the globe are selecting NTRsupport to gain performance they can count on when connectivity and uptime is critical," said Luis Font, NTRglobal CEO. "And our customers are demonstrating their satisfaction with NTRsupport as a cost-cutting solution that delivers strong return on investment by expanding their business with us to other divisions and referring us to their partners. In this difficult economy, we are seeing record growth with more than 500 new businesses a month realizing the value of adopting NTRsupport "
The Gartner report's recommendations for organizations:
- Conduct a gap analysis and consider an Internet-enabled remote-control tool "to offer better support to partners', customers' and employees' nonstandard PCs."
- IT organizations should not replace deployed PC lifecycle configuration management or IT service desk tools to achieve better remote-control functionality; use an Internet-enabled point solution to fill this gap.
- IT organizations that are evaluating PC lifecycle configuration management or IT service desk solutions - and also need Internet-based remote control - should add this capability to their RFPs and request details about security controls.
