New Backup Format for Low-cost Deduplication
NovaStor's new backup format for NovaBACKUP DataCenter 4.7 guarantees superior deduplication rates for commonly used high-end storage appliances, but also achieves surprisingly strong results while using more cost-effective storage solutions.
The combination of NovaBACKUP DataCenter with the free open source deduplication solution “Opendedup” and any low-cost storage system creates a powerful, yet vendor-independent entry into deduplication. By intelligently adapting to the algorithms of Opendedup, NovaBACKUP DataCenter achieves impressive deduplication rates with an optimized system performance. NovaStor's solution supports both Windows and Linux backup servers.
Stefan Utzinger, CEO of NovaStor: "When using NovaStor products, companies remain independent of hardware manufacturers, and can quickly deploy new technologies into their environment. With this latest release we equip companies with the ability to reduce their amount of data in an extremely inexpensive, yet effective manner. Deduplication at an unbelievably low cost entry point. "
