NovaBACKUP DataCenter integrates deduplication
Enterprise backup solution from data protection specialist NovaStor integrates deduplication provided by Data Domain
Independence saves money and increases planning reliability
Due to its modular architecture and open interfaces, NovaBACKUP DataCenter supports the best available deduplication technologies and allows their optimal use. Data centers benefit from a cost efficient solution and the option to implement future technology changes without being restricted to a certain provider.
NovaStor’s solution aims to provide clients operating a data center with a highly efficient and open solution for a very low cost. NovaBACKUP DataCenter’s flexibility and reliability allow clients to implement customized backup strategies that are unique in terms of backup performance as well as data availability.
Data centers are looking to reduce costs
Not every deduplication actually results in the estimated cost savings. The success depends on the choice and smooth interaction of the systems employed. In this particular project, NovaStor regulated the load and optimized data throughput for Data Domain with the flexible configuration and set-up options provided in NovaBACKUP DataCenter. NovaBACKUP DataCenter’s architecture, which is based on flexible job nets, allows roughly 1000 servers to be migrated in minimum time.
“NovaStor stands out with its open, modular architecture. Other providers are increasingly limiting their clients’ choices by offering increasing functionally but at the same time decreasing the number of systems supported”, says Mike Andrews, Managing Director US of NovaStor. “It means that clients are committed to a certain producer and can only avoid subsequent price increases if they replace all of their systems. By moving to an open solution such as NovaBACKUP DataCenter, clients can benefit from better performance as well as long-term cost savings.”
