NovaBACKUP Achieves Top Backup Speeds in Real-World Environment
Backup software tests were conducted on a system with 16 GB RAM and an Intel Core CPU. To conduct the tests under real-world conditions backups took place using default settings. Volume Shadow Services were enabled; compression and verification activated. To reflect a typical use case, tests were conducted with a USB drive as the target backup destination.
In a Windows 7 environment, the backup of 123 GB total files to a USB 3.0 HD took Acronis True Image 2012 one hour and seven minutes. NovaBACKUP 14.0 reduced the backup window for the same data load on the identical system to a mere 12 minutes.
Why Backup Speed Matters…
Even with continuously growing data loads backup should be completed without the disruption or reduced performance of PCs and laptops while in use. If it is not possible to complete backups during hours of non-operation, system load from these processes should be kept to a minimum as not to affect productivity.
An enhanced backup speed is therefore crucial to a smooth user experience. By creating the least impact upon resources, data protection processes function nearly unnoticeable to the average user.
