Reaction to dynamic, regulatory developments
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) maintains thousands of guidelines, draft papers as well as question and answer documents, which are regularly updated and extended. Against this background, and in view of recent developments leading to further bans and restrictions on commodities, Nölken has decided to establish a dedicated staff unit. The position of the Regulatory Affairs Manager monitors the compliance with the growing regulatory requirements to thereby ensure high standards of products and packaging and a correct, non-misleading advertising claim.
A key aspect of the new position is its independence from other operational commitments. This allows the Regulatory Affairs Manager to act neutrally and without being influenced by commercial or developmental factors. Communications with authorities and associations and the analysis of the product-specific data and legal position are now the responsibility of the Regulatory Affairs Manager.
