Logistics solution launches Tourdriver app for tracking of assets without telematics

By using the new Tourdriver app, GPS data for transports can be easily provided – without registration and without permanently installed hardware.

NIC-place, the logistics solution with secure data handling tools for digital cooperation with partners in the supply chain and expert in the integration of telematics data, launches its own "Tourdriver" app to enhance the range of services for the collection of essential GPS data for mapping logistical transport processes.

Tourdriver is the app for NIC-place Tourboard customers to track mobile assets without existing telematics or for short-term transport orders. The driver receives a request by e-mail and can open it without a pre-registration in the installed app. The data transmission is then manually started and ended by the driver. When the tour is ended, the transfer of position data is automatically stopped. The app is already available as a free download in the Google Play Store and soon in the Apple App Store.

"All tour information is clearly presented for the driver. This helps with the organization and the willingness to actively share data", explains Pete Jendras, CEO of NIC-place, about the new function within the service offer for transport processes, so-called tours.

The Tourdriver App is used to transfer GPS data during a tour to the customer and his NIC-place Tourboard. Based on the data, the customer can track, monitor and document his transport process and is therefore always informed whether his goods will arrive at their destination on time. "With the new app, we simplify the digital collaboration of our customers with their subcontractors when access to telematics data is not possible," says Jendras.
