“We have been active in the Swiss market since 2014 and have been successfully marketing the IBM Analytics products,” says Michael Baumann, Vice President of asknet’s Academics Business Unit. “asknet’s product portfolio has been specially tailored to the needs of academic institutions in Switzerland on the basis of IBM products, allowing us to significantly enhance our position in this segment since then.” asknet uses the Application Specific License (ASL) model to create its own solutions and products on the basis of SPSS that combine software with a wide range of useful added-value features, such as semester-based automated key management, online software distribution, user statistics and much more.
By founding asknet Switzerland GmbH in 2015, the company laid the groundwork for a path of growth. The extension of its partnership with IBM until 2021, with a special focus on Analytics products such as the SPSS product family, represents another milestone along this path.
The portal solution from asknet allows research institutes and institutions of higher education in Switzerland to specify their individual process and ordering requirements while sourcing and distributing software products such as IBM SPSS through a direct connection.
