NZ government, recruiters support job drive in Germany

(PresseBox) (Auckland, )
Visitors to the world’s largest Information and Communication Technology trade fair, CeBIT being held on March 9-15 in Hanover, Germany will get a chance to find out about job and lifestyle opportunities in New Zealand.

Immigration New Zealand and Investment NZ will provide support to companies and recruiters at the fair, and supply information on living, working and doing business down under.

Communications and Marketing Director Richard Ninness said visitors to the fair would be able to find out about New Zealand’s ICT industry and other work options.

“There are many reasons why New Zealand is a great choice for people seeking a change, starting with lifestyle. There are also plenty of opportunities for those seeking new jobs and careers.

“Unemployment in New Zealand is at a historic low of 3.6 per cent and employers are eager for candidates with the right skills.

“The ICT industry is one of a number of areas where skill shortages exist across the country.”

“NZ recruitment agencies are having trouble finding people who are network engineers, application developers, framework developers, as well as process and system managers.”

Mr Ninness said Kiwi recruiters and employers would be keen to talk to potential candidates ready for a move to New Zealand about what their options were.

With over 6,200 exhibitors from 70 countries, CeBIT provides 480,000 visitors an international platform for comparing the latest developments in information technology and telecommunications.

“New Zealand is home to cutting edge ICT companies and a desirable location for ICT professionals. For those interested, there are concrete options at hand.”

Under New Zealand’s immigration programme, about 30,000 skilled or business residents and their families are accepted for residence every year. There are also a range of temporary work permits allowing migrants to work for up to two years, during or after which they may also qualify for residency.
