Gebrüder Weiss bringt SUP-Board von Atlantik-Mission klimaneutral zurück nach Deutschland

Nach dem Abbruch seiner Atlantik-Überquerung ist das speziell angefertigte Stand-Up-Paddle-Board (SUP) des Kieler Extremsportlers Michael Walther wieder in Deutschland angekommen. Gebrüder Weiss organisierte den Rücktransport per Seefracht von Fuerteventura nach Hamburg – klimaneutral durch ein zertifiziertes Insetting-Verfahren, das CO₂-Emissionen direkt in der Transportkette reduziert.

Walther wollte mit seiner Solo-Mission über den Atlantik ein Zeichen für den Schutz der Ozeane setzen. Nach rund 1.000 Kilometern musste er die Reise wegen einer Kollision mit Treibgut abbrechen. Damit die Mission weiterwirkt, kommt das Board künftig in der Meeresforschung zum Einsatz.
