Das DOCSIS 3.0 zertifizierte Kabel-Modem CMD31T ermöglicht Service Providern noch nie da gewesene Geschwindigkeiten auf einem Hybrid Fiber Koaxial Breitband Netzwerk anzubieten. Das Kabel-Modem bindet vier Kanäle in jede Richtung und garantiert so Downstream-Datenraten, die um bis das Vierfache über den Übertragungsraten von DOCSIS 2.0 liegen. Damit wird DOCSIS zu einer Alternative zu ADSL2+, VDSL und Fiber.
Das CMD31T ist mit IPv6 ausgestattet und abwärtskompatibel zu DOCSIS 2.0, 1.1 und 1.0. Es bietet eine einfache Einrichtung und lässt sich mit SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) verwalten. Das Kabel-Modem integriert einen USB 2.0- sowie einen Gigabit Ethernet-Anschluss für die schnelle Datenübertragung ins Netzwerk.
