net mobile AG, Europe’s leading full-service provider for mobile value-added services and payment solutions, announced today its launch of the mobile TV application for iOS. The application has been developed exclusively for the mobile network operator Vodafone GmbH.
After the successful release of the "state-of-the-art" Mobile TV app for Android in December 2011, follows now the application for the iOS platform. Mobile TV is available free of the charge on the Apple iTunes Store. The basic package includes six free TV channels, such as n-tv, CNN, Tagesschau, Rundschau, NurSport and the soccer channel. Furthermore, it will be possible for customers to book more premium channels on top, such as RTL Mobile, DMAX, ProSieben and Eurosport et cetera. The highlight of this solution is that the Mobile TV app also works in the regular 3G Vodafone network and not only in a WLAN network. Thus, the customer is able to receive TV content at any time and any place. This is made possible by the dynamic adjustment of the image size and bit rate, so that the highest quality of TV programs is guaranteed. It is required that the iPhone operating system iOS 4.3 or later is installed. Additionally, the app has a number of innovative features such as MeinTV, so that the user can select its own favourite TV program, alarm clock, an easy-to-use zapping functionality and an expanded Electronic Programming Guide (EPG).
