On the 15th and 16th of November, net mobile AG hosted the first Firefox OS App Day in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) in cooperation with Mozilla. It was the next major step for the young operating system Firefox OS through the expansion of its community in the Rhine/Ruhr area.
As young as the Firefox operating system is its community, which engages with the Linux-based open source system in NRW. During the Firefox OS App Day, young developers had the opportunity to listen to technical lectures and to turn their learned lessons into practical work at the net mobile AG offices. Mozilla experts like Michael Kohler (Mozilla Representative), Marcus Ross (Author and Trainer) and Dr. Hermann Lichte (Director Innovation Management, net mobile AG) supported the teams during the implementation. Christian Heilmann, a Mozilla Developer Evangelist, answered further questions in an open Q&A session via Google Hangouts.
The Firefox OS App Day was an event in the framework of the net-m Innovation [L]app. With the net-m Innovation [L]app, net mobile AG claims and especially promotes young developers with innovative ideas. Firefox OS invites everybody who is able to use their ideas to improve the system, which is solely based on open web standards like HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The source code is publicly available. Thereby, Firefox OS is the perfect environment to test and implement innovative ideas.

Through the open and web-based architecture of Firefox OS, we are able to completely customize the system for our customers.
