In this newly created position, Shirekar will be responsible for commercial operations and customer support at NDS India, and he will be based in the NDS Mumbai office. He will develop new business for NDS end-to-end pay-TV solutions in India, and manage NDS support operations for existing customers in India - Tata Sky, Hathway Cable and Datacom.
Commenting on Shirekar’s appointment, Taylor said, “Kishore has an outstanding record of achievement at generating new business in the Indian pay-TV industry. He has a strong understanding of the characteristics of the Indian pay-TV market, particularly with DTH broadcasting operations, which will be invaluable to NDS and to our customers in India as pay-TV undergoes a period of rapid transformation. We feel fortunate to have him join NDS India.”

Shirekar has more than 18 years’ experience in the Indian broadcasting industry. Prior to joining NDS, he was Director, Sales and Marketing for India and South Asia at Scopus Video Networks, Mumbai. In this role he headed several major DTH projects. Prior to that, he was Deputy General Manager for a company offering end-to-end solutions for the broadcasting and security industry, where he managed a large team of engineers and was instrumental in generating new business.
