Die kompakte und robuste Plattform CompactRIO(TM) von National Instruments ist ein modulares System, das mit einer sehr breiten Palette unterschiedlicher beliebig austauschbarer Interface-Module bestückt werden kann, mit der sich nahezu jede Messdatenerfassungs- oder Steuerungsaufgaben lösen lässt. In Verbindung mit dem cRIO PN Modul ergibt sich eine äußerst attraktive Lösung zur Realisierung von PAC-Systemen, die hochkomplexe Mess- und Automatisierungsaufgaben gleichzeitig übernehmen müssen.
Das cRIO PN Modul basiert auf dem SIEMENS ERTEC 200 Controller. Der Prozessdatenaustausch mit dem cRIO Host Controller erfolgt über SPI Bus. Die maximale Länge der zyklischen Input-/Outputdaten beträgt jeweils 256 Byte. Versorgt wird das Modul extern über 24 Volt Gleichspannung und es integriert außerdem 4 LEDs zur Diagnose- und Statusinformationsanzeige.
Das Modul wird in der Programmiersprache LabVIEW(TM) von National Instruments programmiert. Die einfach zu bedienende VI-Schnittstelle bietet detaillierte Beispiele inklusive Quellcode. cRIO PN wird voraussichtlich ab Mitte des Jahres lieferbar sein.
