Der deutsche Triebwerkshersteller zeichnet für die einzigartige schnell-laufende Niederdruckturbine verantwortlich, die eine Schlüsselkompo-nente des GTF ist, und realisiert zusammen mit dem amerikanischen Partner einen neuen Hoch-druckverdichter. Mit dem indischen Auftrag klettert die Zahl der bestellten und optionierten PW1000G-Triebwerke auf über 1.200. Sie werden neben der A320neo die CSeries von Bombardier, den MRJ von Mitsubishi und die MS-21 von Irkut in die Luft bringen.
Die MTU Aero Engines ist Deutschlands führender und einziger unab-hängiger Triebwerkshersteller und eine feste Größe in der Branche. Sie hat weltweit über 7.900 Mitarbeiter, die im Geschäftsjahr 2010 einen Um-satz in Höhe von rund 2,7 Milliarden Euro erwirtschaftet haben. Technologisch ist sie führend bei Niederdruckturbinen, Hochdruckverdichtern, Herstell- und Reparaturverfahren. Die MTU Maintenance ist der größte unabhängige Instandhalter ziviler Triebwerke.
