With immediate effect, Gleichmann & Co. Electronics is also official central European distribution partner for the sunlight readable displays from Daewon Europa, headquartered in Milan (Italy).
In order to improve the readability in direct sunlight, Daewon Europa relies on a mechanical modification of the front and back polarizer. The results are transflective characteristics, an improved basic brightness and a wider viewing angle. The anti-reflective front glass with UV filter has however, two additional advantages: First of all, damage to the LCD layer is avoided and secondly, a clear readability is guaranteed.
The sunlight readable displays, which are available since 2006 under the brand name "SolarView" are currently available with diagonal screen sizes from 10.4-inch to 52 inch and resolutions from 800 x 600 pixels up to 1920 x 1080 pixels. As Kenneth Lee, General Manager of Daewon Europa, emphasized during signing the agreement with Gleichmann Electronics; the broad spectrum of display sizes reflects the constantly increasing demand on sunlight readable displays for different ranges of applications. "Easy to read displays, even with direct sunlight or bright ambient lighting, are gaining increasing importance in our visual society. Gleichmann Electronics is also confident that the market for sunlight readable displays will further increase significantly within the next few years.
