MSC Technologies introduces four starter kits for computer-on-modules with Intel Atom E3900 processors

MSC Technologies, a company of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), presents four new starter kits for computer-on-modules (COM) based on the latest generation of Intel® Atom E3900 processors previously codenamed “Apollo Lake”. The line-up includes starter kits for COM Express™ (Type 6 and Type 10), for SMARC™ 2.0 and for Qseven™ modules. All kits will enable the users to plug any “Apollo Lake” based module onto a proven and tested platform, ready for evaluation, test and development.

All MSC Technologies’ COM families with the new processor range support the three Atom processors E3950 (QC, 1.6/2.0GHz, 12W), E3940 (QC, 1.6/1.8GHz, 9W) and E3930 (DC, 1.3/1.8GHz, 6W) as well as the Pentium® N4200 (QC, 2.5GHz burst, 6W) and the Celeron® N3350 (DC, 2.3GHz burst, 6W). The modules based on the Atom processors are also available in the industrial temperature range.

The COM Express and SMARC starter kits feature carrier boards in the Mini-ITX form factor, while the Qseven starter kit comes with the MSC Q7-MB-EP6 platform board in 3.5” form factor. All baseboards feature a choice of the most popular interfaces along with dedicated support functions to assist in the test, evaluation and development process.

  • MSC C10-SK-AL-EV-KIT001 (COM Express Type 10)
  • MSC SM2F-SK-AL-EP1-KIT001 (SMARC 2.0)
  • MSC Q7-SK-AL-EP6-KIT001 (Qseven)
