The BC95 is available for the following four frequency bandwidths: 900 MHz, 850 MHz, 800 MHz and 700 MHz. The data transfer rate is between 100 bps and 100 kbps. It has an output of 23 dBm and its sensitivity is rated at -129 dBm. The protocol stacks IPV 4 and UDP/CoAP are supported, with IVP6 to come in the near future. In contrast to LTECat M1 or earlier GPRS, the NB IoT module does not support protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, etc. Additional text and data transmission services meet requirements on the user end.
The BC95 NB IoT module is delivered as an LCC Package for SMT. The module is configured for a working temperature range of -40 to +85 °C and is therefore particularly suitable for ongoing operation in tough environments. The supply voltage is within the 3.1 to 4.2 V range, typically settling at 3.6 V. One feature worth mentioning is the low power consumption of 6 mA in Idle Mode and 5 µA in Power Saving Mode, typical for the NB IoT. This makes the module especially appealing for battery-operated stationary applications. Combined with its compact shape and its expanded temperature range, the NB IoT module is perfect for a multitude of applications, e.g. smart metering, smart city, safety systems, white goods, sensor monitoring systems for the environment and agriculture.
For rapid system integration, reference designs and evaluation tools are available.
