invaZion 2010 Partners & Call for Submissions

(PresseBox) (Brühl, )
One of the highest endowed short film challenges enters the hot zone: After an outstanding debut in 2009 the "invaZion 2010 3-D Short Film Challenge" now gets ready for touchdown. We are proud to announce our partners for 2010: PANASONIC, THE FOUNDRY, FMX and MORE3D are sponsoring prizes worth well over 20.000 EUR.

If you would like to win one of our awesome awards and prizes, make sure to submit your 3-D short from March 1st through March 31st. Please go to the submission page for detailed information on formats and procedures.

The jury and ourselves are truly looking forward to your films.

Due to many requests we have added useful links on proper stereoscopic camera setups and other tips and tricks around stereoscopy and 3-D film production on the FAQ page. the links and learn how to create great 3-D films. It's still time to add a 2nd camera to your project and render a 2nd perspective... Some of you have asked for it and you are right.

The invaZion 2010 screening proportions are:

- 4 m screen width
- 3-6m viewer distance

Please plan your camera setup accordingly.

Please do not wonder where the REGISTRATION page has gone at invazion.org. In order to enable fully automated 3-D short film submissions we had to find another technical solution (*tekkies read below). Due to this new awesome system you will have to *blush* reenter your personal information on the actual submission page. This became neccessary because we have to ask you for detailed Director and Project information anyway and couldn't link databases from the invazion.org page. We promise to unify both - the upload service and the invazion page - by next year. Please accept our apologies for the brief inconvenience. We hope that the awesome prizes will justify the means :)

Your registration data is still safe, it's just not displayed momentarily - hopefully it will be up again and more useful later this year. Please revisit often because we have great plans, including of course, invaZion 2011 ...

Also stay tuned for a breakthrough development from more3D for 3-D film makers to be announced in May. You may want to subscribe to the more3D news letter, if you haven't allready done so.

And now we wish you good luck with your 3-D short film!

Cornel & Ingo

* The new submission system enables more3D and our Hollywood jury to access your films online from Brühl or Los Angeles using a pre release of moreMedia HD 2.0. Your submissions will be automatically renamed during upload and will be kept on a secure more3D server until they are pre screened by our staff. During the pre screening we will check for improper content or bad entries. This will happen in April. Each proper submission will be marked as "go" and tranferred onto the moreMedia screening servers for review by the jury.
