Citadele Bank Chooses MobileIron for BYOD and Document Security
Citadele Bank, a full-service financial group for both private individuals and companies, offers a complete portfolio of banking, financial and private capital management services in Latvia, its home market, and through its international presence.
As Citadele Bank began to prepare for a BYOD program, CIO Guntars Andersons recognized the need to provide employees with an easy-to-use mobility service without compromising the security of the bank data. "At our bank, employees are free to choose their work device. Some of us prefer iOS-based phones, others choose Android-based ones. This means we have a wide variety of devices from different manufacturers," said Andersons.
Citadele Bank started to look for solutions over year ago that would deliver email and data securely inside and outside the workplace. The risk and security team was very concerned about data security but the mobile IT team knew that a great usability was also critical. Citadele Bank in cooperation with Data Security Solutions and Head Technology selected MobileIron.
"In addition to MobileIron, we also looked at solutions offered by other providers," Andersons continued. "Having local support from Data Security Solutions for MobileIron was really important. We were also impressed with MobileIron Docs@Work which provides data loss prevention (DLP) controls for email attachments. We have implemented strict limitations that attachments can be opened only in the MobileIron secure environment."
As the next step in its Mobile First journey, Citadele Bank is considering supporting third party apps to further increase employee productivity by mobilizing core business processes.
