Requirements Modeling at REConf 2012

Benefits of Modeling for Requirements Management

(PresseBox) (Nuremberg, )
MID GmbH: The 11th requirements engineering conference ReConf 2012, March 12-16 in Munich is meeting the concerns arising from the ever-increasing significance of models for a successful requirements management by holding its own series of lectures: The track "Requirements and Modeling" will be chaired by MID managing director, Andreas Ditze. His contribution, "Quo Vadis Modeling as a Means for Requirements Engineering or What Even is the Point of Models?" will kick off the lectures on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MID will showcase the INNOVATOR Office Integration at the event. Requirements can be created using Microsoft Word and linked and synchronized with the INNOVATOR model. You can find more information under www.reconf.de and www.mid.de.

MID managing director, Andreas Ditze, will kick off the track "Requirements and Modeling" on Tuesday, March 13, 2012, 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with his talk "Quo Vadis Modeling as a Means for Requirements Engineering or What Even is the Point of Models?". He will take a critical look back over numerous years of modeling within the framework of requirements engineering and divulge the status quo of how models currently help to determine and document requirements from various points of view. He will then identify what needs to be done for models to be able to develop their full potential for all stakeholders in requirements engineering.

MID will showcase live how INNOVATOR essentially supports requirements management, from business process modeling right through to requirements analysis. This enables both BPMN 2 and UML 2 to be implemented, meaning both the IT and operating departments benefit from this. Integration of Microsoft Office enables simple use of Microsoft Word to easily enter requirements in an INNOVATOR model as text and manage them. Requirements are created and edited separately using Word without even the need for INNOVATOR to be installed on the user's workspace. The requirements are then synchronized and linked with the INNOVATOR model. With its user interface set out in the style of Microsoft Office, its central team repository and its comment functions, INNOVATOR also facilitates teamwork, even if the team is spread out in different locations.

You can find more information about REConf 2012 and model-based requirements engineering under www.reconf.de and www.mid.de.
