Microtech Gefell GmbH is proud to make an active contribution to the sustainable strengthening of the Thuringian economy and is pleased about the high recognition as "Thuringian world market and technology leader".
The result of the current ranking project "Thuringian world market and technology leaders / Hidden Champions of Thuringia" presents a selection of high-performance companies.
Market and technology leaders who convince with their products and services in Germany, Europe or worldwide were honored.
The high level of innovation that has led them to the top of their respective markets is manifested in a high proportion of new or constantly improved products and services as well as above-average research and development expenditure.
The project is a joint initiative of the Thuringian Ministry of Economics and the State Development Corporation of Thuringia (LEG).
Comprehensive research has identified nearly 90 companies in Thuringia. These include world-renowned companies such as Carl Zeiss and Jenoptik, but also "hidden champions" such as Microtech Gefell GmbH.
Hidden champions (secret winners) are highly innovative, mostly medium-sized companies that have become European or world market leaders in niche market segments.
As part of the project, the Free State of Thuringia used hard, quantifiable evaluation criteria to evaluate a large number of top companies that are leaders in their respective market segments.
For the project, an interdisciplinary working group was established within LEG, which developed evaluation criteria based on scientifically sound principles.
In the next step, all industries, technology fields and company forms were considered and thus the entire economic and corporate landscape was analyzed.
Technologically leading companies in Thuringia are in the majority highly innovative
small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The elicited SME candidates, including Microtech Gefell GmbH, were interviewed in the group of "future champions" based on the defined criteria and evaluated in a proactive process with the companies.
These highly innovative "little diamonds" or "Future Champions" are thus companies with proven potential to further strengthen the Free State of Thuringia as an internationally sought-after business and science location.
