Microsoft kündigt Partnerschaften für die nächste Generation innovativer Windows 10 Hardware an

Im Rahmen des Windows Hardware Engineering Community (WinHEC) Events in Shenzhen hat Microsoft Partnerschaften mit Intel und Qualcomm sowie Neuerungen für die nächste Generation von Windows 10 Hardware angekündigt.

„Project Evo“ – Hardware auf dem Stand der Technik. Mit „Project Evo“ wurde eine Kooperation mit Intel vorgestellt, welche zukünftige Windows 10 Geräte für modernste Technologien aus den Bereichen Sicherheit, Künstliche Intelligenz, Mixed Reality und Gaming vorbereitet. Dank „Project Evo“ unterstützen Geräte mit Windows 10 Creators Update zukünftig innovative Funktionen wie eine Sprachsteuerung aus größerer Distanz mit Cortana, Erweiterungen bei der biometrischen Anmeldung via Windows Hello, eine erhöhte intelligente Sicherheit zum Schutz vor Cyber-Angriffen, neue Mixed-Reality-Erfahrungen für PCs und „Head-Mounted-Displays“ (HMDs) aller Preisklassen sowie neue Innovationen für Gaming – beispielsweise eSports, Spieleübertragungen, 4K-Support oder High Dynamic Range (HDR).

Windows 10 für Geräte mit Qualcomm-Prozessoren. In Zusammenarbeit mit Qualcomm bringt Microsoft Windows 10 zudem auf Geräte mit ARM-Prozessoren. Rechner mit der kommenden Generation der energieeffizienten Snapdragon-Prozessoren werden damit x86-Anwendungen ausführen können – also gewohnte Windows-Anwendungen und Universal Apps wie Office oder Photoshop. Gleichzeitig ermöglicht die Kooperation Microsofts Partnern die Herstellung von mobilen Windows 10 Rechnern mit eSIM-Technologie, welche sich ohne SIM-Slot mit Mobilfunknetzen verbinden lassen. Erweiterter Zugang zu Mixed-Reality. Windows ist das einzige Betriebssystem, das Entwicklern wie Kunden eine einheitliche Plattform für Mixed-Reality-Erfahrungen bietet. Im Rahmen der WinHEC hat Microsoft nun weitere Neuerungen vorgestellt, um den Zugang zu Mixed-Reality-Geräten weiter zu erleichtern: So wurden Spezifikationen der ersten HMDs unterschiedlicher Hersteller wie Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP und Lenovo vorgestellt, die gemeinsam mit Intel entwickelt wurden und im nächsten Jahr verfügbar werden. Gleichzeitig erhalten Kunden einen erweitern Zugang zu Mixed-Reality-Inhalten, beispielsweise über mehr als 20.000 Universal Windows Apps, durch umfassenden WebVR-Content via Microsoft Edge inklusive der Nutzung von 3D-Objekten aus dem Web mit „Drag-and-Drop“-Funktion oder auch über 360-Grad-Videos in der Movies & TV App. Nicht zuletzt hat Microsoft angekündigt, dass HMD-Developer-Kits im nächsten Jahr auf der Game Developers Conference für Entwickler verfügbar werden.
