- Bundling of "Big Data Technology and Applications" in one holding with IPO potential
Helmut Hilgers and Stefan Ulrich Fleissner have been appointed as new Board members of mic IT AG, a company which belongs to mic AG's portfolio, with effect from 1 August 2013. Both managers possess decades of business experience and capital markets expertise in the IT industry and across sectors in M&A and corporate finance. Helmut Hilgers, who has been recognised as an expert in the branch for over 30 years, has worked as the IT Director in several large enterprises and has been involved in IT enterprises both as an entrepreneur and as a director. He has excellent links to significant market players and brings along a deep understanding of the challenges, driving forces, developments and market dynamics within the IT branch. This is optimally complemented by Stefan U. Fleissner's capital markets expertise of around 15 years. He has had responsibility for a series of stock market floats and capital market transactions both as director of a corporate finance advisory firm as well as in the role as executive of venture capital and investment companies. As an entrepreneur he established several IT companies in Germany and in the USA and successfully sold them to various strategic investors in the branch.
Claus-Georg Müller, Chair of the mic AG Board, comments on the appointment of the high-quality management duo: "We are very pleased to be able to win two such experienced experts with an impressive track record from the IT branch and the capital markets environment in order to build mic IT AG into an autonomous and powerful holding."
Stefan U. Fleissner, mic IT AG Board member, explains regarding his appointment: "The task of building mic IT AG into a leading IT enterprise with its own products around the growth driver 'Big Data' is very attractive for me. I am very pleased to be able to bring my business and capital markets experience to bear here." His Board colleague Helmut Hilgers adds: "It is our goal to swiftly expand the mic IT AG product portfolio and to be able to announce one or two further takeovers by the end of the year. We have already identified potential targets and those that fit within our acquisition strategy - the negotiations are already underway. With these, we want to offer our customers high performing solutions from complementary hard and software products, as well as services right across the 'Big Data' sector."
